Confidence and clarity on your path to fitness

The 3 Week Kickstart

We know there are a LOT of barriers to starting an exercise program. Our goal is to help remove as many of those as possible so that you can realize your fitness goals.

You're not healthier because you exercise today. You're healthier because you create habits that are sustainable- day after day- to create lasting change.

What is The 3 Week Kickstart

This completely FREE 3-week video series is designed to guide participants through strengthening exercises for the entire body in only 5 minutes per day from the convenience of their own home.

Whether you're looking to start a workout routine for the first time or it's just been a while and you're having trouble getting started again, this program will help you bridge that gap from wanting to improve your fitness to actually getting there!  Designed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, The 3 Week Kickstart teaches you how to safely exercise your entire body starting with small, bite-sized workouts.

No more frustration over not know what exercises to do. Just follow along with the daily videos, and we'll walk you through every workout! The only equipment you need is a set of light dumbbells (3-5# will do for most people). You can even get creative and hold cans of soup instead of weights if you need!

What To Expect

When you sign up, you'll receive a welcome email with a video that introduces you to The 3 Week Kickstart program. Your first workout will be delivered to your inbox the following Monday. Here's what to expect from the daily emails throughout this 3 week program:

Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.

Do I need exercise experience?

No. These workouts are all designed for beginners who may not have a lot of exercise experience. Laura will talk you through each exercise as you do it as well as give tips and pointers for proper technique. We've specifically chosen exercises that are easier to follow without needing intricate positioning help.

What time of day should I exercise?

This is where you'll start to create a habit that works for you and is sustainable for a long time. In the beginning you'll only need to carve out 5 minutes each day. We suggest that you sit down before that first Monday when your workouts begin and write down when you plan to do the workout.

Some people prefer to workout first thing in the morning. Others, right before lunch. Many also do it after dinner. There's no right or wrong other than finding a time that is sustainable for you.

We recommend trying to pick a consistent time because it can help with sticking to a routine long-term. However, some people work best when their schedule changes day-to-day, and that's ok too!

The important thing is that you make the commitment and stick with it!

Do I have to complete each workout the day I receive it?

We want this 6 week program to be flexible so that you can truly be successful and make it work for your life. The workouts do not expire, so you can come back to the link in your email whenever you're ready to complete that workout video.

For most, the best way to see consistent results will be to commit to doing the workout each day when you receive it. That way you make sure not to miss anything.

That being said, not everyone keeps a traditional Monday through Friday schedule. Find a routine that works for you. It may be Sunday through Thursday or Monday through Saturday skipping Wednesdays. Some people may even choose to do 2 workouts in one day in order to take the next day off.

The key to your success with this whole program is finding a routine that works for YOU! You've got 6 weeks to try different schedules and determine what sticks.

Will I do a new workout everyday for the whole 6 weeks?

We've found, in our years of experience in the fitness industry, that doing the same workout over and over again can get boring and lead to burnout. However, doing something new every workout also can lead to confusion, frustration and quitting.

In The 3 Week Kickstart, our goal is to blend these 2 concepts:
  • keep the workouts changing enough that the variety keeps it fun and motivating
  • but also repeat familiar routines to allow beginners to feel mastery of what they're doing and push their bodies to work harder

For those reasons you'll do a new 5 minute workout each day the first week of the program. You'll then repeat those same workouts the next 2 weeks. For example: your Monday workout will be the same 3 weeks in a row, but that workout will be different from the workout you do every Tuesday or Wednesday, etc.

Are these workouts considered strength training or cardio?

The short answer is: BOTH

The focus of the movements in all the workouts is more geared toward strengthening muscles. Building strength means pushing a muscle to work beyond its normal capacity, and we'll do this by using weights, challenging positions, and more repetitions of exercises.

All the workout will be complete in circuit fashion which means that you'll perform one exercise then immediately proceed to another without a rest break. Often we'll be alternating muscle groups, so one muscle is resting while we work others. This means that the heart works harder and the breathing increases more as you continue without a rest.

How can I minimize my risk of injury when I'm getting started?

Created by our very own Doctor of Physical Therapy, Laura, this program is designed to safely help you transition into exercise even if you've never exercised before. As you follow along with the workout videos, Laura will demonstrate proper technique for each exercise, verbally cue various parts of the form as you go, and teach you about compensations to avoid that may place you at greater risk for injury.

As with any exercise, pushing your body to do more than it's accustomed to doing does carry some risk, and even though Laura will explain safety concerns as much as time allows in these quick videos, we cannot guarantee you will not become injured.

If you have specific concerns for your body, past or current injuries, or questions about exercise technique, we encourage you to join our Kickstart Community for a small monthly fee, where you can ask questions and get personalized feedback from our team to help you further minimize the risk of injury as you proceed.

What happens after my 3 weeks are over?

We love this question because it means you see this as a stepping stone to more! As the "Kickstarter" name implies, this 3 week program is intended to be the beginning of your fitness journey, not the end of it.

After you complete these 3 weeks, you'll be consistently exercising for 25 minutes per week and should be feeling more confident in your ability to exercise.

Based on extensive health data, the recommended amount of exercise for adults is 150 minutes at a moderate intensity each week for optimal health improvement. That may be a good goal to strive for, BUT I always like to remind people that any exercise is better than no exercise. So, if 25 minutes per week is all you can handle right now, stick with it! You're still getting healthier.

Want more?
The good news is that you can accomplish those 150 minutes in a variety of ways. So, if you continued the 5 minute workouts you learned in the program and added a 10 minute brisk walk before or after each workout, you'd be exercising 75 minutes each week!

Can I receive more support if I need it?

Yes! While this 3 weeks series was designed as a comprehensive workout routine that you can complete independently, we never want you to feel like you're alone on this journey! That's why we've created The 3 Week Kickstart community where, for a small monthly fee, you can ask questions, receive additional accountability support, and message directly with Laura if you have questions or concerns about your technique, previous or current injuries, or other exercise-related topics. Please see "The Kickstart Community" section below for more details!

Is this physical therapy?

No. While workouts have been designed and are instructed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, they are not a replacement for physical therapy. Our hope is that as you learn safe body movements and gain mobility and strength, that your body will feel better.

If you have a current or past injury and want more information about how to protect this area while exercising, we recommend signing up for The Kickstart Community where you can ask your specific questions to Laura. She can give you individualized feedback about ways to modify exercises.

However, this program is in no way intended to be medical advice, medical treatment, or completed without self-awareness of your own health. Please do not complete exercises that do not feel safe or appropriate for your body, and please seek medical advice and clearance for exercise if you have any concerns about the safety of exercise for your body.
